Versa Governmental Strategies, based in Jefferson City, Missouri, offers more than 40 years’ experience in legislative advocacy and governmental affairs, allowing the firm to help its clients forge creative paths to effective solutions. Before forming Versa, the careers of Principals Zach Pollock and Jon Hensley were defined by public service, with both having served in leadership of several government agencies.

ZACH POLLOCK
Zach Pollock brings deep experience in advocacy, lobbying and grassroots leadership after 25 sessions in the Missouri Capitol. Prior to founding Versa, Zach served as Director of Government Relations for the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives, as Director of Legislative Affairs for the Departments of Agriculture and Mental Health, and as the Governor’s point of contact for all utility and telecommunications legislative matters. Zach also served as Policy Director for the Office of Administration, acting as Legislative Advisor, Director of Project Manager Oversight for the Information Technology Services Division, IT Director for the Departments of Economic Development and Labor, and Special Assistant for the Governor’s MOBroadbandNow office. Zach is recognized by his colleagues, elected officials, and staff alike for his tenacious advocacy and encyclopedic historical knowledge of complex legislative matters, as well as for his genuinely friendly nature and magnetic personality.

WHO WE ARE
Jon Hensley
Jon Hensley served Missouri for over a decade as Assistant Missouri Attorney General, representing the state in litigation over the interpretation and application of various state and federal regulations, statutes, and constitutional provisions, and counseling officials regarding legislative construction issues. His public service includes terms spent as General Counsel to the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, General Counsel and Deputy State Treasurer to the Missouri State Treasurer’s Office, and Deputy Director of the Missouri Division of Workers’ Compensation. Jon was elected to serve three terms on the City Council of Jefferson City and currently chairs the Heartland Port Authority of Central Missouri and the Jefferson City Tax Increment Financing Commission. Jon is highly regarded for his trusted counsel in drafting sound and concise legislative and regulatory language. He is known for his keen ability to synthesize complex subjects into understandable terms, and for a dry and wry sense of humor.
